CIEEEN BEGINS ISSUANCE OF PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATES TO REGISTERED ENGINEERING PRACTITIONERS

The Chartered Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nigeria (CIEEEN) has commenced the issuance and collection of professional certificates by registered members whose applications have been completed and approved by the Governing Council. The development marks another significant step in the Institute’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professional registration, regulation and standards within the electrical and electronic engineering profession in Nigeria. Among the practitioners recently presented with their certificates were Engr. Julius Oboh, CEE, former Chairman of the NIEEE Makurdi Chapter; Engr. Ambrose Nnaji of the National Assembly; Engr. Felix Ufene; and Engr. Lydia Oluwaniran, both of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). The certificates were formally presented by the Registrar/CEO of CIEEEN, Engr. Simeon Isibor, CEE, FNIEEE, at the Institute’s Headquarters in Abuja. Speaking on the development, the Registrar urged practising Electrical Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Technicians and Craftsmen who are yet to complete their registration to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise and obtain their professional registration and licence in accordance with the Institute’s statutory mandate. He emphasised the importance of professional registration in promoting competence, accountability, ethical practice and adherence to established standards within the electrical and electronic engineering sector. Members whose registration has already been approved are advised that their certificates may be collected at the CIEEEN Secretariat in Abuja or during ICEPT 2026, scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
